Cheshire partner organisations work in nine European countries: Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, North Cyprus, Portugal, Russia, Spain and the UK. Each organisation focuses on particular services that meet the needs of the local population.

Cheshire partners in the UK, Ireland, Portugal and Spain recently worked together to develop EDAMAT, the European Disability Action for Mainstreaming Assessment Tool. Other organisations from Greece and Malta also joined this two-year project, completed with the support of the European Commission and national groups of disability stakeholders. EDAMAT works to assess and promote the effective mainstreaming of disability in general policies, laws and programmes. Practically emphasising how to implement the concept of mainstreaming, it helps ensure that the result has a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
